Past Events
Our annual potluck and awards evening was a tremendous success again this year. The food, plentiful and delicious, the deserts amazing. A huge THANK YOU to all that contributed.
Many door prizes were available which were all donated and will be enjoyed by all winners. Again, thank you for the donations helping make for a great night.
President Gordie Morrice spoke of the accomplishments the club made in the past year, Paddy Lake dam rehab project, and presented the new signage the will be displayed at the dam, the blue bird nesting box building with elementary students and the Clean, Drain and Dry sign placement coordinated by Terry Tysick. Gordie also spoke on the work Janet Tysick has done on the Bottle Lake access and hopes the club will be able to get this project off the ground once the various governments can work together.
Tickets were sold for a 50/50 draw and a wonderful bench made and donated by club member Jan Kammerscaard. Tim Schruder won the bench. The 50/50 draw netted the winner, Tony Jones from the Almonte Fish and Game Association $90.00 where the proceeds where donated back to the club.
Three awards were given out Sportsman of the year, Biggest Turkey and Biggest Buck.

The Biggest Buck went to 15-year-old Hannah LaRocque
This 10-point big boy came in at 200 pounds. Hannah, at 13 went through the Eastern Ontario Youth Hunt Collaborative. Her first year she harvested an eight point and has been highly successful each hunting season. Looks like a force to be reconned with in the next several years.
The third award, Sportsman or the year went to Jim Tye.
This trophy acknowledges an individual club member who selected by his/her peers.
Believes in the wise use of our natural resources.
Devotes much of his/her own personal time and effort to conservation activities.
Exemplifies the qualities of a true sportsman.
Congratulations Jim, Hannah and Len, well deserved.










2025 Potluck & Awards Night
Members of the Lanark & District Fish & Game Conservation Club staffed a booth at the Renfrew Gun & Hunting Show on Saturday, March 8th & Sunday,March 9th, 2025. There was a lot of interest from the public and we provided information and handouts on our Club, the Ontario Federation of Anglers & Hunters (OFAH) and the Eastern Ontario Youth Hunt Collaborative (EOYHC).
The booth was staffed on Saturday by Steve Rankin, Blake Rankin, Bernie Duffen & Jim Tye. On Sunday it was staffed by Gordie Morrice & Tim Schruder. See pictures attached.
Thank you very much to John Johnson for providing the booth space and to the guys for staffing it.






The Lanark & District Fish & Game Conservation Club had a booth at the Almonte Gun Show on February 8, 2025. The booth was shared with the Almonte Fish & Game Association and information on the Eastern Ontario Youth Hunt Collaborative was also available.

We will have a booth at the Renfrew Gun & Hunting Show which is on Saturday, March 8th from 8 AM to 3 PM, and Sunday March 9th from 9 AM to 2 PM.
Renfrew Gun Show 2024
The Lanark & District Fish & Game Conservation Club had a booth at the Renfrew Gun Show on March 2 & 3, 2024.
It was staffed by Gordie Morrice, Tim Schruder, Steve Rankin, Blake Rankin & Jim Tye.


Ice Fishing Derby 2024
Again in 2024, the Lanark & District Fish & Game Conservation Club is planning an Ice Fishing Derby on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Paterson Lake.
As in the past, it will be a social occasion occurring on Family Day weekend which is a License-Free weekend.
It will include a shoreline fire pit over which will be cooking hot dogs and delicious chili.
This is a free event so bring family and friends and enjoy a beautiful Family Day at the lake






Ice Fishing Derby 2023
On February 18, 2023 the Lanark & District Fish & Game Conservation Club held their annual Ice Fishing Derby. It coincided with the provincial Family Fishing Day.
It was held on Paterson Lake. Some participants came early to fish, others dropped in later to enjoy the comradery and the food which consisted of hot dogs cooked over an open fire and chili.






Success-A-Field Awards & Wild Game Supper 2023
The Lanark & District Fish & Game Conservation Club held their Success-A-Field Awards & Wild Game Supper on Saturday March 25, 2023 at the Royal Canadian Legion in Lanark. A very enjoyable evening was had by the over 40 attendees. Long time member Ernie McDougall was presented with the Sports Person of the Year award by Club President Gordie Morrice, picture attached. Bob Emery received the Wild Turkey Trophy; however, Bob was unable to attend. Wendy Tye-LaRocque was presented with the Big Buck Trophy. Len Dickinson received Honorable Mention for harvesting a record bear. Hannah LaRocque, aged 13 and Sandra LaRocque aged 16 received Honorable Mention for both harvesting their first deer on the first day of the 2022 Deer Season! Picture of Hannah and Wendy attached.
